Nameclick terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Cameron (Kam) Low of auscaster, who makes and runs Nameclick for Sourcey ("we" and "us"). They cover the Nameclick browser extension, the service at api.nameclick.co, the MCP server at mcp.nameclick.co and the LinkedIn email finder on sourcey.com. Installing the extension, signing in or using the service means you accept them.
What Nameclick is
A way to reach one person at work. You press on a LinkedIn profile, a GitHub profile or a name you selected, and Nameclick shows who it matched and their work email when it has one. You decide whether to write to them. Nameclick never sends anything for you.
What a lookup costs
- A lookup is one press that shows a person's work email. A miss, a failure or a match you report as the wrong person costs nothing, and opening someone you found before is free.
- The example card on install is free. Signing in with Google gives 30 free lookups a month. The web finder gives a few free lookups a day.
- Paid plans, when they open, buy more lookups a month. The price and the number of lookups are shown before you pay. A plan renews until you cancel it, and when you cancel, it runs to the end of the period you paid for.
- If the price of a plan or the lookups it includes change, we email you at least 30 days before your next renewal, and you can cancel before the change applies. The free allowances can change; the extension always shows how many lookups you have left.
- Where the Australian Consumer Law or the law where you live gives you a refund, you get it.
The records
A record comes from a contact-data provider and from the person's own public profiles, as it was when last seen. People change jobs, and a record can be out of date or match the wrong person. Check the card before you write, and report a wrong match from the card.
What you must not do with Nameclick
- Send spam, or use an address for anything the person would not expect from their work.
- Look people up in bulk or automatically, or build a list or database from what it shows.
- Resell, publish or share what it shows, or offer it as part of another service.
- Harass, threaten, stalk or deceive anyone, or look up a private person about their private life.
- Break the law where you or the person live, including laws on marketing email.
- Get around the limits, for example with extra accounts for more free lookups, or by sharing or selling an account key.
- Attack, overload or scrape the service.
We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms.
If Nameclick has your details
You can ask to be removed, privately and without a reason. Your record is deleted when you confirm from your address, and Nameclick does not look you up again. The privacy policy says what is kept and why.
Your account and keys
- Signing in with Google gives the extension a key, which only your browser holds; signing out ends the key.
- An account is for one person. Keep its keys to yourself: lookups made with them count against your account.
- You must be old enough to hold a Google account where you live to sign in. To buy a plan, you must be an adult or have a parent's or guardian's permission.
The service
- Nameclick keeps changing: features, supported sites and the free allowances can change.
- We work to keep it running, but it can be slow or unavailable, and a lookup can fail.
- You can stop at any time by removing the extension.
- If we ever close Nameclick, we give at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused part of any paid period.
What we are responsible for
Under the Australian Consumer Law, our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded, and nothing in these terms takes away a right or remedy you have under that law or any other law that cannot be excluded.
Beyond those rights, Nameclick is provided as it is. We are not responsible for what you send, or for how anyone responds to it. Where the law allows us to limit our liability, it is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
The law that applies
The law of South Australia governs these terms, and its courts hear any dispute. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the law where you live, and can bring a claim in its courts where that law allows.
Changes to these terms
Every change is posted here with its date. A change that takes something away from you applies no sooner than 30 days after we post it, and if you have a plan, we email you before it applies.
